Whole Grain Goodness


  • 100g reduced fat spread
  • 200g clear honey
  • 200g rolled oats
  • 150g mixed seeds
  • 100g toasted flaked almonds
  • 100g sultanas
  • 50g ground almonds
  • 2 tsp sesame seeds


  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C / Fan 160°C / Gas Mark 4.
  2. Heat the reduced fat spread and the clear honey in a saucepan until the spread has melted.
  3. Stir in the rolled oats, mixed seeds, toasted flaked almonds, sultanas and ground almonds. Mix together gently, then press into a 22cm square baking tin.
  4. Sprinkle the sesame seeds on top, then bake for 15 minutes until golden.
  5. Allow to cool slightly before cutting into 24 pieces. Leave in the tin to cool completely before removing and enjoying.

Cooking Tips

  • Bake a batch and store in an airtight container, ready for when you need them.
  • Butter can be used instead of reduced fat spread, but saturated fat content is more than double using butter.
