Is rapeseed oil a whole grain?
No, rapeseed oil (sometimes labelled vegetable oil) is not a whole grain. Rapeseed Oil Benefits is a sister website we run.
Rapeseed oil is the only commonly used culinary oil that can be widely found both grown and bottled in the UK. Rapeseed oil comes from a plant in the same Brassica family as broccoli, cabbage and cauliflower. It’s a healthy choice of cooking oil as it has less saturated fat than other commonly used cooking oils and fats (e.g. 50% less than olive oil) and is high in beneficial monounsaturated fats. It is also a rich source of vitamin E.
